Meet our newest addition to the team, Taylor Lee Mack! She's new to ATX, so let's give her a warm DAS welcome!

1. When did you start dancing?

Around the age of 5 my mom put me in Ballet, Jazz, and Tap. I went on to do competitions when I got older.

2. What is your favorite thing to do in Austin?

To be honest I’m not really sure yet because I am new to Austin, and I am still exploring, but Talisa’s Hip Hop for Beginners is probably going to become my Thursday night go to event!

3. Hometown?

Bryan/College Station, TX

4. Who is your inspiration?

Jenna Dewan Tatum because she’s an awesome dancer, actress, and mother! What gets better than that?!

5. What are some of your non-dancing hobbies?

I am an actress. I received my degree in Performance for Film & TV from The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. I also enjoy editing which I just finished taking a class for in order to learn Adobe Premiere. Oh and I love to kayak as well!

Meet Regina! She is currently filling in while Korie is on maternity leave. This woman brings a powerful presence and fun class every week! Be sure to check her out while she's teaching at DAS!

1. When did you start dancing?

Since I was a little girl.  Took Ballet at 5.


2. What is your favorite thing to do in Austin?

Love outdoor festivals. Any outdoor fun activities in great weather is fun to me.


3. Hometown?

Augusta, Georgia 

4. Who is your inspiration?

My mother. She is full of so much knowledge, sharp minded, and very wise.

5. What are some of your non-dancing hobbies? 

Water activities such as swimming and water bike riding, playing volleyball, skating occasionally, travelling, among other fun hobbies.

6. What is your favorite dance-related experience?

Performing at dance shows and night clubs have always been my favorite dance experiences. These days, I'm just happy teaching dance.

Meet Josh! He packed his bags to leave ATL for ATX! Let's welcome him to the DAS family!

1. When did you start dancing?

When I was 8 years old.

2. What is your favorite thing to do in Austin?

I am brand new to Austin! Looking to explore it all!

3. Hometown?

Marietta, GA

4. Who is your inspiration?

It’s not a matter of who but a matter of what. I am more inspired by things or situations I do not understand, for feel I need to shed my light on it.

5. What are some of your non-dancing hobbies?

I love learning a lot about craft beer and working on my certification on being a Cicerone (beer guru).

6. What is your favorite dance-related experience?

It’s a tie between dancing in Israel when I lived there and writing and directing my own show during my time at University of Florida.

Meet one of our fabulous interns, Lilly! She's amazing at what she does and is a great dancer/performer too!  

1. When did you start dancing? 

I started dancing when I was 3 years old after watching my mm dance in a recital at a dance studio in Mexico. I was so excited to see her on stage and immediately felt the need to be up there performing as well. I begged her to enroll me in classes and she graciously did!

2. What is your favorite thing to do in Austin? 

Eat! I love all the food here! I also love going to the movies and taking my dog, Sherlock, for walks anywhere we can find a trail.

3. Hometown? 

A little border town called Rio Rico, AZ.

4. Who is your inspiration? 

Walt Disney! It amazes me that someone from a tiny, unknown town went on to create one of the biggest companies we know. It reminds me that no matter where you come from it's your drive and passion that leads you to success.

Marissa is one of our awesome interns! Currently Marissa is also a student at The University of Texas. She definitely adds value behind scenes and on the dance floor at DAS! Marissa most recently performed with the Sexy Stiletto ladies at the Love Hangover Showcase.

My parents are my inspiration. 

5. What are some of your non-dancing hobbies?

Some of my hobbies are shopping and painting. 


6. What is your favorite dance-related experience?

My favorite dance related experience was my drill team recieving a crowd pleaser award at a competition my junior year. All of the competing teams voted for their favorite performance and ours won, so we performed at the very end in front of everybody at the competition.

I'm sure this face is already familiar to you if you've ever stepped foot inside of Dance Austin Studio. Chances are this is the main beautiful & friendly face that will greet you! Meet Alexis!

1. When did you start dancing? 

I’ve been dancing since a very young age. My mom says I would stand in front of the T.V. and mimic what I saw. I’m self taught and I’ve been dancing for as long as I can remember. I didn’t really start any formal training until I was in college. 


2. What is your favorite thing to do in Austin? 

Austin is full of Live Music, and it’s one of the many things that attracted me to this city. I try to go to a concert at least once a month as well as the many music festivals Austin hosts annually. 

3. Hometown? 

Hidalgo, Texas is where I was raised. A very small border town at the very tip of texas. The Rio Grande Valley is what some of you might know it by. Not much to do out there, but drive out 45 minutes to go to the beach (South Padre Island).

Meet our newest addition to the Dance Austin Family, Krista Robinson! This woman is a phenomenal dancer and instructor! She currently teaches our Adult Technique class. 

1. When did you start dancing?

I was 3 years old when I started dancing.

2. What is your favorite thing to do in Austin?

I do not hate kayaking...not at all. 

3. Hometown?

I'm from Rockford, Il-about an hour and a half out from Chicago. Land of Beef-a-Roo's cheddar fries. Look it up. You don't know what you're missing. ;)

4. Who is your inspiration?

My oldest sister, Lynette. She was the first to show me what motivation and perseverance look like.

5. What are some of your non-dancing hobbies?

Indulging in the best cheddar grits this city has to offer and record shopping are a couple of my go-to hobbies at the moment.

6. What is your favorite dance-related experience?

In college, my modern dance professor choreographed this beautiful piece about the AIDS epidemic in Africa and let me choose one of the songs that was used....

Florianópolis, Brazil.

4. Who is your inspiration?
My mother. 

5. What are some of your non-dancing hobbies?
Movies! I’m a member of The Austin Film Society and I can be found there watching foreign films pretty often.

6. What is your favorite dance-related experience?
Dancing in Istanbul Turkey and winning the Tarazade Competition has been one of my career highlights.
