I was 3 years old when I started dancing. 2. What is your favorite thing to do in Austin?
I do not hate kayaking...not at all. 3. Hometown?
I'm from Rockford, Il-about an hour and a half out from Chicago. Land of Beef-a-Roo's cheddar fries. Look it up. You don't know what you're missing. ;) 4. Who is your inspiration?
My oldest sister, Lynette. She was the first to show me what motivation and perseverance look like. 5. What are some of your non-dancing hobbies?
Indulging in the best cheddar grits this city has to offer and record shopping are a couple of my go-to hobbies at the moment. 6. What is your favorite dance-related experience?
In college, my modern dance professor choreographed this beautiful piece about the AIDS epidemic in Africa and let me choose one of the songs that was used. I chose Sade's "Pearls" and created something so moving. I've never felt so connected to a message before. 7. Favorite Show/Movie/Book: Movie: Don't do this to me! lol Friday the 13th part 5 is up there as well as Imitation of Life. Book: The Pillowman and "The Odyssey" 8. Fun fact about you?
I love kayaking, but can't swim and have trust issues with life jackets. Huh.
9. You are taking a dance class - what style can we find you in first?
Jazz. Hands down. 10. Favorite Quote and why?
"Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams."- The Alchemist
This is a newfound favorite, simple but difficult for me to grasp at times. It's a reminder for me to live beyond all fear of failure.
